Cornea Fellows Educational Summit

September 6-9, 2018
Tampa, Florida

The Cornea Society is proud to present this new educational summit for cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery fellows. This two-day intensive educational program includes both classroom and skills transfer lab components and is designed to complement and reinforce cornea fellowship training.

The Summit’s curriculum has been developed to address educational challenges identified by cornea fellowship directors in late 2013.

The program is designed to provide:

  • additional training to improve diagnostic and treatment skills within the clinic setting,
  • additional instruction on patient selection and surgical techniques for refractive surgery,
  • technique pearls for routine and complex cataract surgery and corneal transplantation

The integration of hands-on skills technique training in both refractive and corneal transplant surgery has been included to provide additional experience and better prepare fellows for their first years in practice.

Based on the constraints of the educational budgets of cornea fellowships, the program has been designed to provide participating fellows with reimbursements for travel costs and complimentary registration.

The Cornea Society gratefully acknowledges the unrestricted educational grants and in-kind support from the following:

Bronze Level
Bausch & Lomb

Additional educational grants in support of the program are being sought.
